Which Amazon reviews may qualify for removal?
In our experience, the reviews most likely to come down are those that violate the law or Amazon's guidelines. Whether that applies to a specific review is assessed by the partner law firm:
- False statements of fact about your product
- Insults, abusive criticism, and defamation
- Non-compliant or fabricated safety claims
- Bought, fake, or competitor-planted reviews
- Off-topic reviews (e.g. about shipping or the seller, not the product)
- Incentivized reviews that violate Amazon's guidelines
Which reviews stay up?
Genuine, factual criticism stays up, and it should. This is not about buying a perfect rating; it is about having potentially non-compliant reviews removed. That distinction is exactly what decides whether a removal succeeds.
Report a review yourself or have an attorney remove it?
You can report a review yourself through Amazon's reporting tool. That costs nothing, but it only works reliably for clear guideline violations. If a review may violate the law, a demand letter from a partner law firm usually has a better chance of success than a report through Amazon's tool, because it sets out in concrete legal terms why the review is non-compliant.
How the removal works 2
Refix coordinates the entire process, with clearly separated roles:
- Capture (Refix): We capture reviews using technical criteria; you choose which ones are sent for legal review.
- Legal review (partner law firm): The firm you engage assesses the selected reviews and decides independently how to proceed.
- Removal (partner law firm): The firm requests removal from Amazon; Amazon decides.
- Monitoring (Refix): We automatically watch for new suspicious reviews and for removed ones that reappear, and keep you informed.
How much does it cost to remove an Amazon review?
You pay per review handled, not per hour: no subscription, no fixed costs, and the more cases, the lower the per-review rate. If a review is not removed despite the legal review, we waive our invoice for that case. The partner law firm's success fee is only due if a review is actually removed. The exact tiers are on the pricing page.
How Refix helps
One point of contact instead of many: Refix captures potentially problematic reviews, and the partner law firm handling your case reviews them and pursues the removal. There is no guarantee that any specific review will be removed; that depends on the law firm's case-by-case assessment and on Amazon or the proceeding itself.
